The Ballina home invasion charges follow a violent attack that left two terrified teenage boys fighting off attackers on Danns Lane, Keith Hall, about 1am on Saturday, July 18.
Emergency services were called after reports of a break-in, with police told two men forced their way inside and attacked the 17-year-olds before fleeing.
The Coast Report can confirm the offenders and victims were known to each other.
Both teens were taken by ambulance to Lismore Base Hospital, where they were assessed in a stable condition.
Ballina home invasion charges laid within hours
Richmond Police District set up a crime scene and launched an investigation.
Jordan Pryce Jones, 19, of Ballina, was arrested in Ballina about 4am and taken to Ballina Police Station, where he was charged with three offences: two counts of wounding someone while acting alongside another person, in a domestic violence-related incident, and breaking into the home with intent to seriously injure someone inside.
Jack Walker, 18, also of Ballina, was arrested in Ballina later that afternoon and taken to Ballina Police Station, where he was charged with four offences — the same wounding and break-in charges, plus an additional assault charge, also flagged as domestic violence-related.
Jones already before the courts
Court records show Jones was out on bail at the time of the alleged break-in behind the Ballina home invasion charges, over a separate matter from 2025 involving two counts of assault causing injury and affray in Byron Bay.
That matter triggered a breach of bail, which has now been revoked.
Bail decisions
Jones was refused bail and remains in custody.
Walker was granted bail by Police on strict conditions.
He must report to Ballina Police Station three days a week, and keep to a curfew between 8pm and 6am, unless he’s with his mother or father or travelling to and from work.
He’s also banned from going near or contacting Jones, or any prosecution witness.
Walker is due to face Ballina Local Court on August 6.
Jones will face Byron Bay Local Court on September 8 over the 2025 charges, and Lismore Local Court on September 16 over the latest matter.
