Court documents detail invasive touching and women freezing in shock during treatments at a local clinic.
A Ballina masseur has pleaded guilty to sexually touching seven female clients without their consent while he owned and worked at Sun’s Massage and Acupuncture Centre.
Guosheng Sun, 61, of Robina, pleaded guilty at Ballina Local Court to seven counts of sexually touching another person without consent.
The offences occurred between June and October 2025.
Court documents detail invasive, non-consensual touching during massage sessions at Sun’s Massage and Acupuncture Centre in Ballina.
The offending included touching their genital areas , cupping and rubbing women’s breasts , pulling down their underwear and spreading their buttocks.
Several women said they froze during the treatments because they were shocked and distressed.
One woman said she became so terrified that she wet herself on the massage table.
Language barrier raised by Ballina masseur
Ballina Detectives executed a search warrant at the business in October 2025.
During a police interview conducted with the assistance of a Mandarin interpreter, Sun said he struggled to read consultation forms completed by clients in English.
Court facts reveal Sun migrated to Australia from China around 2006 before successfully obtaining Australian citizenship.
He claimed a language barrier may have caused misunderstandings and told detectives he would put future consultations in writing.
Court documents show Sun’s professional registration was subject to a mandatory English-language condition.
The documents state he failed to comply with that requirement by not adequately explaining proposed treatments, establishing informed consent or communicating procedures to his clients.
For sentencing, however, Sun has accepted that the touching was not carried out for a proper medical or hygienic purpose, that the women did not give informed consent and that he was reckless as to whether they consented.
The Ballina masseur, who commuted from the Gold Coast to work in Ballina, initially pleaded not guilty to five charges before the case expanded to seven offences.
A May 31 post on the Sun’s Massage Facebook page announced the business had changed hands, naming Madeline as its new owner.
His bail remains in place, requiring him to report to Tweed Heads Police Station three times a week, surrender his passport and have no contact with the seven prosecution witnesses.
Sun will be sentenced at Ballina Local Court on November 18.
