A Ballina man who failed to turn up to court over an e-bike theft and a cannabis possession charge has been arrested and is now facing two fresh charges.
A warrant was issued in the e-bike case before the 21-year-old was arrested in Ballina on Wednesday.
Jack Oliss, appeared before Bail Division while in custody on Thursday.
Oliss is now accused of having an offensive implement in a public place.
Under NSW law, an offensive implement can be an item made or altered to cause injury, or any item intended to injure or threaten someone or damage property.
Oliss has also been charged with failing to turn up to court while on bail.
He had already pleaded guilty to stealing the e-bike from the Habitat Shopping Complex in Byron Bay.
Court records show he first used bolt cutters and then an angle grinder to steal the bike.
Days before the Ballina court no-show, Oliss was released on bail in Sydney over an allegation that he tried to stalk or intimidate someone and make them fear harm.
He was ordered to be of good behaviour, live at an approved address and remain in a program until he completed it.
The Ballina man arrested on Wednesday did not apply for bail when he appeared on Thursday.
Bail was refused and he remains in custody.
Oliss is due to appear from custody at Ballina Local Court on September 17 .
The Sydney case returns to Downing Centre Local Court on September 30.
