A repeat AVO offender has been arrested in a dawn raid at a Goonellabah home, only to walk free on bail despite a string of AVO breaches against him.
Richmond Police District officers went to the Southern Cross Terrace address at about 4.30am on Tuesday, catching the man at a home before sunrise.
Ethan Farrell, 24, was taken to Lismore Police Station and charged with two fresh AVO breaches, the latest in a pattern of offending against the same order.
On Tuesday he appeared before Judge L Robinson in Bail Division via video from custody, where the fresh charges were dealt with alongside four earlier matters, taking his total to six AVO breaches of the same order since 2025, plus a seventh charge for failing to show up to an earlier court date.
Despite a outstanding warrant and the fresh charges, Farrell was granted bail on strict conditions.
These include reporting to Nowra Police Station once a day, three times a week, and living at an approved address on the South Coast.
Farrell is banned from entering Lismore or coming within 10 kilometres of the town, except to attend court, and cannot contact the alleged victim or any witnesses in the case.
He must report to Nowra Community Corrections by Thursday.
Farrell is due to appear at Lismore Local Court on August 19.
